Can the doctor fool the insurance company?

abs asked:

I have a friend who wants to have a certain procedural operation that is not covered by his nsurance. Could we ask a doctor to write in the insurance approval form the approved ones in replace to the disapproved procedures. Is this halal for a doctor to do such a thing?

I highly doubt you can get a legit doctor to “fool” the insurance company for you. His job would be at stake! Why would he risk his job and reputation for ONE patient?

maybe if ytou find a dr that cheats, I doubt it, what if you should pass away, then the dr. looses his license, practice etc.etc. and maybe goes to jail!!!

Well, if you find a doctor (especially a plastic surgeon) to do that for you let me know! Second, yes, this is illegal, as this is called insurance fraud. Normally, if a procedure is medically necessary the insurance will cover it, so what procedure isn’t covered?

Better not try that. Gets yourself in trouble as well as the Doctor, and he/she has a whole lot more to lose. Don’t even think about that sort of thing. If the friend has a need for whatever he wants taken care of surgically, I’m sure there are agencies out there to help you. Good luck.
