If the fees you charged have not been paid yet you can write the credit card company and have the charges disputed and they will look into it further. I would try to have the insurance company get more forceful with the bookkeeper at the Dr.'s office but I would definately check with an attorney. There are some that will give free consultations. Maybe if the Doc received a letter from an attorney he'd take notice. If it went to court he could not only be liable for the money he owes you but attorney fees as well. The insurance company will have to reimburse you and then, will have to go about collecting the difference from the doctor. You don't have to be the one to get the payment back.
